Cool events to check out this week...

The Marshall Society and Business Lab is hosting its monthly Lunch and Learn on Thursday, November 19th from 11:00-12:30pm in VKC 156 and there will be FREE LUNCH! This event is open to everyone and anyone so please feel free to RSVP and invite your friends.

The guest speaker will be Craig Scott, Product Planning Manager - Environmental Vehicles at Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. Craig Scott holds an MBA from the USC Marshall School of Business and heads the team of designers that create Toyota’s environmental vehicles, including the hybrid Prius. Toyota spends an average of nearly one million dollars an hour on R&D to develop the cars and technologies of the future - cars that deliver higher fuel economy with lower vehicle emissions. Ten percent of Toyota’s U.S. sales are hybrids and Toyota has sold nearly 75% of all the hybrids in America so far. Craig Scott plays a vital role in the success of Toyota’s green vehicles. Come hear about what future plans Toyota has for green vehicles!

Environmental Volunteer Opportunities THIS SATURDAY!

November Friends and Neighbors Service Day

Looking for an opportunity to volunteer with fellow Trojans? Want to help the local community? The November Friends and Neighbors Service Day will take place on Saturday, November 21st (8am-noon) .

Friends and Neighbors Service Days are one‐day volunteer projects designed to introduce members of the USC community to social service agencies that address social, political, and cultural issues found in Los Angeles. These service events take place on Saturdays throughout the school year and provide a great opportunity to meet fellow students as well as get involved in the surrounding community.

On November 21st, students, alumni, faculty, and staff will have the opportunity to volunteer at sites throughout the Los Angeles community. The projects for this service day will revolve around various social issues including:

· Art and culture

· Beautification

· Environmental

· Friendly visiting

· Shelter

· Youth

Community Garden Update: We are in the process of submitting a proposal for a community garden on campus. Environment First and Calpirg are heading the project (with the support of USG and the sustainability council) and we're hopeful that anyone interested in heading up the project will join us in our efforts this year. first free service that enables individuals to track their electric, gas,

Hello all,

My name is Amy Aronson and I am working with fellow student Justin Feldman on the SC for H.O.N.V.O. (Healthy, Organic, Nutritious, Vegan Options) Campaign. Our goal is to show Trojan Hospitality that there is a demand for more vegetarian and vegan options on campus, and that although vegetarianism may not be the majority for USC students, it is the responsibility of Trojan Hospitality to provide accessibility to healthy eating choices for all students. We are currently working on a letter-writing campaign to Trojan Hospitality to get their attention and show them that there is a demand for healthy/vegetarian/vegan options on campus. We would greatly appreciate your support and solidarity, which you can show by writing an email to Trojan Hospitality. Attached is a template for a letter requesting more vegan options on campus. You can follow this template exactly, but it may be more effective to customize the letter to your liking.

On a very important side note, Justin and I had an unfortunate incident at EVK today. We discovered that a tamale that was clearly marked as VEGAN was actually full of chicken. It is clear that Trojan Hospitality and the dining halls on campus do not take dietary restrictions, lifestyles, and food allergies seriously. If you agree that this is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE, please let Trojan Hospitality know!

GARBAGE DREAMS

"Filmed over four years, GARBAGE DREAMS follows three teenage boys - born into the trash trade and growing up in the world's largest garbage village. It is the home to 60,000 Zaballeen, Arabic for "garbage people."
The Zaballeen survive by recycling the city's waste. These entrepreneurial garbage workers recycle 80% of all the garbage they collect, creating what is arguably the world's most efficient waste system.
When the city they keep clean suddenly decides to replace the Zaballeen with multinational garbage disposal companies, the Zaballeen community finds itself at a crossroads. Face to face with the globalization of their trade, each of the teenage boys is forced to make choices that will impact his future and the survival of his community.

When asked what she hopes to accomplish with Garbage Dreams Mai replied, "I hope that the film brings new awareness to the issue of trash/recycling but in a new way, not just as a pressing environmental issue, but as a global phenomenon and a way of survival for much of the planet's poor."

Student representatives from both groups will present research from both party platforms, actually debate the positions, and then ask the audience to decide who wins. The Unruh Institute of Politics will be providing a reception with free food to follow.

We have a lot of exciting news this week! Make sure you read up on all of our upcoming activities! :)

The Program Director of Rainforest Action Network, Jennifer Krill will be coming to USC to speak on Tuesday, April 7th from 11AM to 12:30PM in JKP 102. Rainforest Action Network is an awesome international environmental advocacy group (http://ran.org/). Be sure to come! There will be free food and beverages.
Here's Jennifer's bio:
A proud hellraiser since 1995, Jennifer Krill serves as Rainforest Action Network’s program director, providing policy and strategic direction to all four of RAN’s campaigns. Jennifer leads RAN’s negotiations with corporations, acts as primary spokesperson to the media, and manages a talented team of organizers who mobilize thousands of activists. An expert on forests, clean energy and forward-looking transportation policy, Jennifer has directed campaigns at RAN since 2002. Her work has involved efforts to protect Old Growth Forests in Canada, Tasmania and the United States, jumpstarting Ford Motor Company, and spurring the nation’s largest banks to stop financing climate change-causing industries. Jennifer helped found RAN’s ambitious Rainforest Agribusiness Campaign, which works to get big agribusiness out of rainforest regions. Jennifer has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Washington Post, Fortune Magazine, the Ecologist, and many others during her fifteen years of advocacy and organizing. Jennifer currently serves on the board of Plug-in America and is a former board member of Dogwood Alliance. She holds a B.A. and B.L.A. from Ball State University.

Here are a few events happening this weekend to think about before we discuss them at the meeting...

I would like to extend an invitation to your organization and fellow students to attend the EPA Open House next Saturday, March 28th at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium library in San Pedro. The Open House will be an opportunity for students and the community to learn about local water and fish contamination issues affecting the LA and Orange County coasts.

The event will also provide the unique opportunity of allowing community members to talk one-on-one with EPA and NOAA/MSRP representatives regarding the clean-up and habitat restoration of the Palos Verdes Superfund site.

We would love for you to attend and to spread the word to your members about the event. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have. Also, please find the event flier attached to this email.

Hi I am Moises Rivera, Community Affairs Director of the Environmental Club at Gertz-Ressler High School.

On March 28, the Environmental Club is going to have an electronic waste fundraiser for our school with the company Neu-waste. We will collect electronics such as monitors, televisions, laptops, cameras, and cell phones.

It is important that we spread the word to at least 50,000 people. I would like to kindly ask for your assistance in promoting this event. All the money raised from the event will be for my high school. We would greatly appreciate if it were possible for you to promote this event by posting our flyer in a monthly newsletter, e-mail, or sending it out to any contacts you may have.

We will also have entertainment, guest speakers, and area available for organizations that promote environmental awareness. If you would like to set up a booth or make a presentation promoting environmental awareness, please contact us! We would love your support! We planned this event not only to recycle electronics, but also to provide our community with a well-developed understanding of the environment and an opportunity to make a difference.

Thank you for your help. It is important for us to keep hazardous waste from electronics, such as lead and mercury, off of our streets. If you are not the correct contact person, I am sorry for the inconvenience. Please let me know who I can speak to in order to get the flyer posted or distributed. Once again, thank you.

Firstly, I must say, thank you all for your interest in co-sponsoring this green event. We in APASA are very grateful for all of your support. Just to recap, we have Alumni Park booked for the 24th and 25th, and we will be giving out tote bags as well as organic foods while collecting recyclables, which we will recycle and donate the money to a green-minded group (suggestions include Tree People and Community Services Unlimited). PSA has graciously offered paint supplies for a banner, biodegradable utensils and plates. A slight change: there will be music at another venue on campus, we will be unable to have music playing. APASA has come up with a poster for advertising purposes, but we have only a placeholder name of "Green Day", so creative ideas are welcome. If you'd like your organisation's logo on the poster, we can put it on, but it'd be great if you'd send it to us so that we put on the right one. All this being said, we could use drinks, so if any group would be willing to help out in that area, it would be great. Also, bodies on the day of, just to show support, would be appreciated. I believe we reserved the venue from 11 AM - 2 PM on those days, but I'll have to confirm that. If you have any questions or ideas, don't hesitate to contact us. I am really excited for this collaborative event, and I hope to be in touch with all of you soon.

Our water is being mismanaged. Without your voice, lawmakers and profiteers will continue to exploit the headlines and win corporate profits and political advantage.

You have two opportunities to join us and show your power. Start the march at 9AM or meet us for the noon celebration.

Organized by a wide coalition promoting responsible and sustainable water use, this march has broad support, but it won't work without YOU.

- Do us a favor? This weekend we wrote a letter to Senator Feinstein asking to focus her legislation on the preservation of California's remaining wild lands. If you're up for it, customize your own letter or use the one I wrote (at the bottom of this email), and send it along to Feinstein or your home state Senator. We got the idea from the California Wilderness Coaltion. There is legislation being voted on soon which will effect wild lands in all states, not just Califonia. Google "Omnibus Land Management Act of 2009" to see what's going on.

Dear Senator Feinstein, US Senate, Washington, DC,

As a representative of USC's student organization, Environment First, I urge you to take necessary steps to preserve and protect California's remaining wild lands. We simply cannot afford to endanger these lands at this pivotal point in time.

It should be abundantly clear by now that the ever-increasing proliferation of humans and industry severely impacts our land base in a negative way. As California Senator, you are responsible for preserving our future by taking actions that limit dangerous and excessively rapid development.

That is why it is paramount for you to focus your legislation on preserving our last remaining desert wild lands and rivers. Protection of these lands is one easy step we can take to limit careless expansion and destruction of valuable California wilderness. The Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009 is a great example of legislation we would like to see more often.

Although we may not visit our California wilderness very often, we are comforted by the knowledge that it exists. Please act now to ensure that California's wild lands remain untainted for us and for future generations.

Our first general meeting of the semester is this Thursday, January 22nd in GFS 105 from 6-7pm. On the same day is the first Trojan Fresh Market at Alumni Park (more info below). This semester USC has hired a Director of Sustainability (I believe that is the title), Matt Oden. We'll be discussing these developments and our plans for the semester. Hello E1'ers! We'll be having the first farmer's market of the semester on Thursday January 22nd in Alumni Park (this is our new location). There will be lots of fresh fruits and veggies (including heirloom apples, berries, kiwis, tangerines, carrots, and blood oranges), plus lots of local vendors (Homeboy Bakeries, Melrose Baking Company, stone candles, African red tea, cheeses, kettle corn). To make this event happen, we're going to need your help! There are two ways in which you can help: pre-bagging the produce into 1 pound bags in the morning before the market, or manning the actual booths during the afternoon.

Pre-bagging will take place from 8-10AM in Harris Hall (walk through EVK to the back courtyard), and the actual market shifts will run from 11:00AM-5PM in Alumni Park. Since the market is before our first E1 meeting, we'll be doing volunteer sign-ups via email. Please don't feel like you have to stay for the entire duration...any time you can put in will help. Hello!

I haven't been able to make it to meetings this year, so I know I really have no right to run for Co-President, and I'm not really expecting it to happen. But I do want to get more involved next semester because environment issues are, in my opinion, the most important ones of our generation, and will probably be for our entire lifetimes. Some of the things I would like to work with everyone on:
1. Set up more recycling bins around campus (this should be easy, and they are significantly lacking)
2. Collaborate more with the departments, housing, hospitality, basically everyone we can to reduce paper use, increase recycling, initiate more environmental education (what can and cannot be recycled, eating lower on the food chain, no more plastic water bottles!, living with lower impact, composting)
3. On that note... maybe working on a large project to establish a compost pile somewhere on campus. It would be a huge effort, but if we all contributed it's very feasible
4. If composting is a no-go, maybe an small organic garden? I know a lot of universities and schools do it; It would be awesome if we could grow food and then have a little picnic at the end of the year or next semester when things have grown
5. I haven't been here during Earth day, but I think we should do a big celebration for it out at Tommy Trojan... food, t-shirts or pins, posters, someone in a tree suit giving free hugs? yessss
6. This may be far fetched, but it would be awesome if we could get a celebrity to come and talk about their involvement in environmental activism. I know Sheryl Crow has done a lot, and Woody Harrelson (sp?)

Anyways, "they may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one." I these are ambitious goals, but they are extremely important to me and I think it would be wonderful if we could accomplish even one of them next semester. I'm really hoping the meetings work with my schedule next semester, and if they don't I may just have to change my schedule!

Hey all, you probably don't know me but I was E1's philanthropy chair in the previous semester. Currently, I'm travelling up the coast of Queensland in Australia after finishing my semester abroad. I'll (hopefully) be graduating in May with a BS in Electrical Engineering. So anyhow, as co president there is one major change I would like to see and that is more discussion of goals/methods. I think at this point we all know that what we do at the personal level can never "save" the environment, and that if civilization continues its current trends we may soon not have an envinronment to save. That isn't to say that being green isn't the morally right thing to do - or that what we do isn't worth it. In fact, what we do is very important. But obviously, we are all still actively participating in a system that is funadmentally flawed and is killing the planet. I think we can assume that the things we are doing to preseve the environement are not going to change the majority of Americans or the corporations who are doing 90% of the damage.

Yet we seldom talk about these things, we seldom discuss what I suppose you could call the philosophy of environmentalism. What I am suggesting is that we take part in some contemporary philosophy. In addition to planning out all our events and plantings we should also take part in discussions about how we would TRULY save the earth. I mean, what exactly would it take to dismantle harmful corporations and stop them from functioning in harmful ways? Should we place the needs of our personal careers and education above the needs of our landbase? I believe that this is really important stuff (maybe even the most important), but I just don't think enough people are talking about it.

Hello environmentalists!

I just wanted to personally thank Katherine Heiland, our very own philanthropy chair, for setting up the tree planting last weekend. Katherine, Rania, and I had a GREAT time in the Angeles National Forest with fellow Trojans, some pesky Bruins, and plenty of other friendly volunteers. We planted eight trees ourselves, about two hundred total as a group, and are hoping for a little bit of rain to keep them alive.
The views were beautiful, the people were welcoming, and the work was rewarding. Just think of all the trees we can plant if the whole club goes! I sincerely urge you to keep an eye open for more tree planting and philanthropy events like this next semester. I can guarantee that you won't regret it.

One big motivator for going green = saving green. Tying the two together will encourage not just you to green your own life, but other, less eco-motivated Trojans to do the same. Four ideas to get this synergy going:

1. Bring Your Own. Reuse your own mug at Trojan Grounds and other coffee spots to get a few cents off your drink. Take your own bag to the Bookstore, Student Center, and other places where you might buy stuff. The more ambitious among you might consider taking your own fork, spoon, knife, and chopsticks to eateries where the only option's disposable flatware.

Make it easy: Get a teensy fold-up or stuffable bag that you can carry in your backpack or purse. You can also get a flatware set in Swiss army knife form — or collapsible chopsticks.

Get active: (These will require group effort; each list goes from easy to hard)
* Publicize the money back for BYO-mugging deal to students. Few know about it.
* Participate in Day Without A Bag, coming up Dec. 18 — and work with Heal the Bay, the school or outside companies for free bag giveaways to students.
* Get bookstore and other places that give out disposable bags to offer a discount to students who bring their own.
* Better yet, tack on a fee for students who take a bag.
* Look into the feasibility of offering reusable silverware at all dining locations on campus.

2. De-package. Opt against overpackaged stuff — especially overpackaged food. For example, buy a whole apple, not pre-sliced apples sold in a plastic bag.

Make it easy: BYO mugging will let you avoid bottled water too. Also try to frequent campus dining facilities where the food doesn't come prepackaged like it does at the Student Center or Trojan Grounds.

Get Active:
* Banish styrofoam. The first step is to at least get away from the worst of the disposable plastics to the less evil disposables.
* Start a Terracycle recyling program for some non-recyclable food packaging.
* Push dining services to make less packaged food an option for students.
* Institute a program to let people bring their own containers — and offer a discount for their doing so.
* Demand more organic, local, and fair trade foods options.
* Get a composting system in place.

3. Drive less. Most of you stay on campus the vast majority of the time, but try to use public transportation as much as possible when you do leave the 'SC bubble.

Make it easy: Get to know the Dash F, which will give you access to all of downtown LA without the need to pick a designated driver. If you have a car on campus, leave it at home. The parking fees you'd save alone will probably be enough to rent a Zipcar whenever you need it.

Get Active:
* Create a transit-friendly map of L.A. Trojans can use, and make it widely available. The Bruins have one.
* Advocate for the Expo line. This line is languishing right now — and with it, your opportunity to hop on the train for a pleasant ride to the Santa Monica Beach. Find out what's happening and let your voice be heard.
* Explore the possibility of getting bus deals for students. At Santa Monica College, for example, students can ride the Big Blue Bus for free.

4. Unplug. Start with the video game consoles, which consume more than $1 billion of electricity a year in the U.S. just when sitting idle, according to the Natural Resources Defense Council. (via Technology) Then make sure you unplug everything that gets warm or has a light, like cell phone chargers, laptop cords, etc.

Make it easy: Plug everything into a power strip, then just turn off that one switch. Buying a smart strip that does the switching off for you is another option, but that'll require you spending a lot of money up front.

Get active:
* Find out what the school's policies are about turning off lights, computers, and other electronics at night. From there, develop a feasible energy-savings plan.
* Consider working with the USC Center for Sustainable — as well as other groups at USC — to see if there are bigger energy-related initatives you can work together on, whether that's pushing for new LEED-certified buildings, solar panel installations, or other measures.
* Read the College Sustainability Report Card and consider shaping your environmental initiatives around that report's findings.

Lastly, here are some ideas and notes about working with the administration, using the effort to switch the campus to 100% fair trade coffee as an example. In short, my advice is to try to channel Obama:

1. Start with diplomacy, not attack. You may be surprised to find unexpected allies in the university staff and administration. Go in to discussions with the mindset that everyone might have the same goals — instead of a confrontational attitude that assumes "they" are against you.

2. Know your subject. It's all well and good to research what you think is the BEST fair trade coffee company — but USC won't be able to use them if that company doesn't have a system set up to deal with big university accounts. Try to consider your eco-idea from all angles before asking the school to implement it.

3. Engage in bilateral talks. Not all good eco-ideas are feasible, and some eco-ideas have unexpected negative consequences. Some enviros, for ex, advocate for a switch to bioplastic containers (for cups, etc.) — without considering the fact that the city of L.A. doesn't even have a composting facility that can handle bioplastics. Sometimes, staff and administrators have very valid reasons why your particular idea can't be implemented. When there's disagreement, don't automatically assume they're "against" you or just finding excuses, but consider the other side's arguments and see if you can work to accommodate them.

4. Make it easy. If you want the school to switch to all fair trade coffee, it's easier to convince the decision-makers to make the switch if you go in with the names of fair trade coffee companies that have a proven record of doing the job well.

5. Think progress and process. Aim high, but do avoid the all or nothing mindset. For ex, I'm proud of having helped bring fair trade coffee to most locations in USC, even though the majority of the coffee on campus is still not fair trade. Be willing, for example, to let the administration test one location as a 100% fair trade coffee shop first, instead of threatening a boycott unless an immediate 100% campus conversion's made.

6. Celebrate victories, big and small. Often, student groups / initiatives dissipate and sort of disappear after a victory. Don't let that happen to Environment 1st! Throw a party — and use the time as a chance to regroup — and set new exciting goals.

As part of GLBTA's commitment to diversifying our programming, the Trans-Asian Panel sets out to reveal the experiences of transgender peoples of Asian. Featuring USC's faculty as well as a member of the greater Los Angeles Community we will discuss the real life experiences of transgender peoples of Japan, Thailand, and Asian-Americans. Professor Joseph Hawkins will present on Japan, with Professor Walter Williams will discuss Thailand with reference to other Southeast Asian cultures. Mia Yamamoto, an esteemed lawyer and activist, will present her experiences as a Japanese-American trans-woman in the professional world. Thai cuisine in both vegetarian and meat options is provided.

To further explore traditional roles of trans-individuals in ancient cultures and how that translates to modernity, the GLBTA will be screening Bombay Eunuch. Bombay Eunuch is an intimate, moving portrait of one eunuch family¹s struggle to survive in today¹s changing India. Long revered as divinity, the eunuchs- or hijras, as they are known are now little more than relics in a rapidly modernizing world. Relegated to the fringes of society, their lives often plagued by poverty and hardship, the hijras are at once a powerful evocation of tradition and an inspiring parable about the human will to adapt. Through the voice of Meena, a 37 year old hijra and surrogate mother to a eunuch family of her own, Bombay Eunuch explores the challenges facing many in the eunuch community today, and offers a rare and insightful glimpse of the rewards that come with choosing to be true to oneself.

We have two really exciting events coming up this week!

Trojan Fresh Market, USC's on campus farmer's market will be on Thursday, November 6th from 11:30-4PM in McCarthy Quad.

There will be tons of fresh, locally grown produce, artisan Gouda cheeses, pistachios, popcorn, chocolates, freshly roasted granola, freshly baked breads, and much more! Be sure to stop by! Check out the flyer for more information!

Also, we will be screening "Who Killed the Electric Car" on Thursday, November 6th at 7PM in THH 202 followed by a discussion with Paul Scott, Co Founder of Plug In America.

"Who Killed the Electric Car" is a film documentary that explores the birth, limited commercialization, and subsequent death of the battery electric vehicle in the United States. Check out the attached flyer!

Hi Fellow E1'ers! We'll be having the first farmer's market of the semester on November 6th in McCarthy Quad. There will be a cornucopia of autumnal goodness - squash, pears, apples! To make this event happen, we're going to need your help! There are two ways in which you can help: pre-bagging the produce into 1 pound bags in the morning before the market, or manning the actual booths during the afternoon.

Pre-bagging will take place between 6-10AM, and the actual market will run from about 11:30AM-5PM. We'll be passing around a sign-in sheet at our meeting, so please check your calendars ahead of time to figure out when you can help out. Please don't feel like you have to stay for the entire duration...any time you can put in will help. Thanks!

Hi Fellow E1'ers! We'll be having the first farmer's market of the semester on November 6th in McCarthy Quad. There will be a cornucopia of autumnal goodness - squash, pears, apples! To make this event happen, we're going to need your help! There are two ways in which you can help: pre-bagging the produce into 1 pound bags in the morning before the market, or manning the actual booths during the afternoon.

Pre-bagging will take place between 6-10AM, and the actual market will run from about 11:30AM-5PM. We'll be passing around a sign-in sheet at our meeting, so please check your calendars ahead of time to figure out when you can help out. Please don't feel like you have to stay for the entire duration...any time you can put in will help. Thanks!

The election is right around the corner and it seems like the whole country is holding its breath and waiting… Who will be the next president? What's going to happen to our economy? Will there be a job for me once I graduate? However, there is good news! While you wait, PSA has some awesome events to keep you busy… but first, our weekly dose of political untruths, courtesy of your presidential candidates and Factcheck.org:

The McCain campaign has taken to calling Obama's tax credits "welfare." McCain himself is proposing refundable tax credits of up to $2,500 a year for individuals, or $5,000 for families, as part of his health care plan. He calls it tax "reform."

The Obama campaign claims that McCain plans to cut $880 billion from Medicare spending and to reduce benefits. The fact is that McCain has never proposed to cut Medicare benefits, or Medicaid benefits either.

Hello Fellow Politically Savvy Students!

It's another exciting week in the world of politics, but before we get into that, let's take a look at what the candidates said at the third and final debate. Are they still smudging the truth? You betcha!

Obama repeated a dubious claim that his health care plan will cut the average family's premiums by $2,500 a year. Experts have found that figure to be overly optimistic.

Meanwhile...

McCain said "Joe the plumber" faced "much higher taxes" under Obama's tax plan and would pay a fine under Obama's health care plan if he failed to provide coverage for his workers. But Ohio plumber Joe Wurzelbacher would pay higher taxes only if the business he says he wants to buy puts his income over $200,000 a year, and his small business would be exempt from Obama's requirement to provide coverage for workers.

But regardless of who you believe, you need to make sure you VOTE! And to vote you have to REGISTER!

The duties of the PR chair include:
Compiling and sending out the Newsleaf (our bi-weekly email-- something that's really fun to do),
To speak on behalf of E1 to news outlets and the USC community at large,

The duties of the Philanthropy chair include:
Finding volunteer events around Los Angeles
Organize carpools to volunteer events

The purpose of the Freshman Education Chair is:
to work with USC and the Orientation Office to include information during welcome week, and in welcome week packets about sustainability, becoming sustainable, and recycling in the dorms.
This chair is also responsible for any freshman- directed event planning.

The duties of the Farmer's Market Chair include:
Serve as a liason for the communication between Environment First and Trojan Hospitality
Organize volunteers for the Farmer's Market

The duties of the Earth Week Chairs (there will be two people for this job) include:
Organizing programming for Earth Week events
